Shakespeare Behind Bars is a program whereby prison inmates put on Shakespearean plays for their fellow inmates and prison staff. The plays, comedies and tragedies have often been the source of self-realization, giving participants a glimpse at who they are, new hope for the future and new ways to deal with their feelings.
