Miriam Eleazer is in her second year at Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC), where she is earning her Associates of Science degree. She has worked at JCTC as a peer mentor in the First Year Experience program and most recently spent Summer 2015 as a mentor in JCTC’s J(U)MP. With J(U)MP, Miriam helped prepare incoming freshmen who were at-risk of failing to complete enrollment. She currently works as a manager for a local consignment boutique. Before coming to JCTC, Miriam spent five years working for Chipotle, where she entered as a cashier and climbed to management positions. In her final years at Chipotle, she served as Restaurateur, overseeing multiple locations. She is considering bringing this management experience to her love of psychology studies, and possibly pursuing a career in I/O psychology.
Miriam has a number of pastimes beyond her studies and work. She is an avid reader and creative writer, makes a mean chicken pot pie, and enjoys outdoor adventuring in the state she’s called home for nearly all of her 26 years (Kentucky). She shares a home with her partner, Sebastian, and their cats.
