IF Labs, offered on the opening day of the Festival, focus on ideas and topics of particular interest to Louisville and the greater Kentucky region. Labs are free and open to the public but require registration.

| Philanthropy comes naturally. Frequently we take actions to benefit our "community" without recognizing that we are being philanthropic. New technologyes and styles of social entrepreneurship now offer "everyone," regardless of wealth, novel opportunities to engage in philanthropy. Join a discussion about these new opportunities and tools and how they allow people to give in very personalized ways and take ownership of their philanthropic identify. | ||

| In this session, results of a first-of-its-kind analysis of the demand for local food in Louisville Metro will be released. Mayor Greg Fischer will lead a discussion with a diverse group of engaged citizens and the session audience about the impact of this information, including where our local food comes from; ideas for creating the infrastructure to get it from farm to table; and what an urban commitment to growing regional food can mean for improving quality of life, urban health, our local economy and creating jobs. | ||

| ...25 Years From Now This Lab will present an interactive dialogue about Louisville in the future -- its paths, roads, bridges, parks and buildings, you get to make your mark. Through a Collective Impact Workshop, participants will hear the latest on the progress of the 25-Year Vision Plan, videotape their ideas on Louisville's future built environment and plug into the Vision Plan as it moves forward. |

| Join Mayor Greg Fischer and employees from across Louisville Metro Government for an afternoon of inspiration and discovery that will change the way you think about city government! There will be breakout sessions and talks by Mayor Fischer and internationally recognized civic thinker Jennifer Pahlka, who has some fascinating ideas about how city government can engage citizens to become active partners and not just consumers of services. Recent improvements and innovations taking root in Louisville Metro Government will also be highlighted and celebrated - from the work of the newly formed Office of Performance Improvement and its' LouieStat program to the return of the Dirt Bowl. |
