Sense(able) computing

I've heard of pervasive or ubiquitous computing many times, but never palpable computing.

In contrast to ubicomp, which tends to hide technology, making it harder to use in conjunction with other technologies in the process, "palpable computing" would make the technology more accessible - and extensible? - by bringing it to our senses. It better aligns form and function. As Putting People First points out, the developing idea has conceptual roots in anthropology and urban design.
