Helix Nebula

Sig07016_mediumI just wanted to end the week with this beautiful picture of the Helix Nebula recently taken by the Spitzer Space Telescope.

The halo is composed of the ejected remnants of a dying star. More detail is available here.

It reminded me that I'm really looking forward to hearing theoretical physicist Michio Kaku speak in Louisville next week.

Like a few others sessions, his is now listed as sold out so if you're wanting to see someone in particular, please act now.

Have a great weekend.
