Is the language of the Web more like English or Chinese?

On his blog philosopher of information, Luciano Floridi, describes the differences between what he refers to as subject-prominent (Indo-European, like English) and topic-prominent (Chinese) languages, and relates them to the development the Web. When it comes to meaning, one language is much more like the Internet.

"You get," he says, "what you tag." Since I've long had an interest in artificial knowing, I'm happy to hear he's been researching the semantic web.
