The Web worker's 10 literacies

Web Worker Daily has posted 10 skills necessary to succeed in the Web economy. In addition to those technical skills directly related to the Web such as understanding HTML and CSS, a desire to reach beyond one's social circle and the ability write effectively, to search, to recognize good ideas and to experiment were also listed.

Last on its list: "show courage."

I find these kinds of lists interesting for what they say about how we produce and consume knowledge.

The MacArthur Foundation has also put $50 million behind an effort to understand how people are different as a result of digital media. Check out MacArthur's Spotlight blog, which highlights grant recipients' work if, like me, you have the same interest.
