Notebooks of Robert Frost

RobertfrostnotebookscoverThe LA Times has reviewed a new collection of background material on Robert Frost, The Notebooks of Robert Frost.

As suggested by the title, the 800+ page book consists of six decades of the mostly mundane, but the Times reviewer pulls from it a couple of themes related to the creative process - in particular, the lifelong search of one man for "sentence-sounds" and the effort it took, often in conflict with himself, to say something the poet could identify as true.
