It's the economy, stupid

New York Times Magazine has published a number of intriguing articles in its Year in Ideas issue (free registration required), among them Econophysics, Mass Produced Individuality and the provocative (no, not that way) Economy of Desire. What they suggest, in order: that there are physical laws governing wealth distribution, that we seek individuality as long as it doesn't cost too much and that sexual relationships might respond to price.

Interesting. But with two growing boys in my home, what I'd really like is a gallon of milk that doesn't cost too much.
