Rise up

Taking part in Fast Company's blogjam2006, Lisa Haneberg offers some thoughts on courage, which she believes can be learned. That's good.

I need more.

Along the way she has this to say about business and courage:

As a leadership trainer and coach, my career has been dedicated to the care and feeding of management and leadership. I have been openly critical of many MBA and corporate university programs because I think that while they teach some good stuff, these programs often ignore teaching the GREAT stuff – the most important stuff.

She invites her readers to tell her where courage is being taught.

The quote reminded me that I've been meaning to pick up a book by University of Illinois professor Deirdre N. McCloskey, the Bourgeois Virtues, which argues that free markets and free minds are inextricably linked.
