The moral of the Web 2.0 story

Some of the digerati are tossing around the "m" word to describe the effect that Internet advances are having on human relationships. GapingVoid points to an exchange on the morality of Web 2.0, a term described by Tim O'Reilly here. Meanwhile, Ethan Zuckerman links to another post about Web 2.0 as a feudal arrangement, where the benefits flow more or less in one direction.

Read the comments in the Doc Searls - O'Reilly exchange for some interesting perspectives on the subject. My take: communications tools can change us but they are powerless to make us better people. We must do that all by ourselves.
