Driving on Mars: Scott Maxwell interview

(Cross-posted from Kentucky Space) Mars Rover Driver Team Lead, Scott Maxwell has been deeply involved in the now-seven year mission of the doughty rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, on the surface of the Red Planet. So when Kentucky Space caught up to him we naturally wanted to know whether Spirit will be heard from again, what team members hope to find when Opportunity finally reaches Endeavour crater, and what the arrival in 2012 of the SUV-sized Mars Science Laboratory, "Curiosity," will mean for the current rovers.

And since driving robots on other planets has to be the coolest job ever, we also asked the question that any fan of the Big Bang Theory can relate to: would taking a date to the laboratory really be that impressive? Have a listen below.
