The Tao of choice and software design

Luke Wroblewski at Functioning Form has more from SXSW, this time on the evolution of Apple's OS X and Microsoft's newest operating system from a design perspective.

Speaking as someone who believes design offers a way of approaching complexity, how these two companies have managed the development of the graphics interface in their respective operating systems offers clues to their design philosophies, and in particular their approach to the Tao of choice.

Also, make Steve Jobs happy.

Thanks to Functioning Form for making a summary of the panelists' talk available.
