I wanted to announce that a new voice will soon be heard on the blog. I've had the pleasure of getting to know Tina Rose a little bit over the past few weeks, and given her background, I was eager to
con get her to blog for the IdeaFestival. And to my surprise, she caved agreed.
TIna will be writing about language, literature, linguistics, culture and many other topics. She is a former Advanced Placement English teacher and consultant and has done research ontopics such as Kentucky's dialects and their affects on reading, autism and pretend play as well as various other language-related studies. She is currently the English Director for the National Math and Science Initiative in Kentucky, based at the Kentucky Science and Technology Corporation. She'll bring an erudition and sass to IFblog.
For those of you who may not be aware, KSTC is the organization that started the IdeaFestival and foolishly invited me to write about ideas.
Two years later, the effort could take a turn for the better. Welcome Tina!
